Theo Jellema was born in 1955. He studied the organ at the Groningen Conservatory. Aside from his concert career (with complete performances of Bach (2000) and Messiaen (1999)), Theo Jellema is organ professor at the Groningen Conservatory and the Zwolle Conservatory.
He is organist at the »Grote Kerk« in Leeuwarden (organ built by Christiaan Müller, 1727).
He was member of several jurys. Theo Jellema visited many European countries to give masterclasses and made recordings of important historical organs. He is also active as an organ consultant.
