David Boos (1982) was born in Vienna, where he received his first musical education. In 1999 he commenced his organ studies at the ‘Musikhochschule’ in Vienna, where his teacher was Rudolf Scholz. In addition, he took private lessons with Pier Damiano Peretti. Since 2002 David has lived in the Netherlands, where he completed his Bachelor of Music degree as a student of Pieter van Dijk in 2006. At present he is completing his Masters Degree at the same institution.
David Boos has taken part in masterclasses with organists including Harald Vogel, Jean Boyer, Michael Radulescu and Bernhard Haas. In 2004 he won first prize at the National organ competition in Leiden. David has performed as a soloist and ensemble musician in various European countries. He is organist and director of music at the St. Odulphuskerk in Assendelft, where he plays the historic Vollebregt organ of 1863. He is also active as ‘Mentor-organist’ of the Buiksloterkerk in North Amsterdam, and assistant to the foundation organist of the Oude Kerk in Amsterdam. In addition, David is director of the Krommenie Chamber Choir.
